Micah Richards: Did he deserve to be called to play for England?

when Roy Hodgson named the squad there were quite a number of surprises, and one of them is the omission of Richards. Yesterday Richards expressed his disappointment, however he wished the squad well. Under Capello Richards played only once as a substitute and never had the chance to express his true value. when Pearce played him in the friendly match there were hopes that he can be called for the Euro Championships, but Hodgson decided otherwise. For me personally he deserved at least a call, especially considering that Ferdinand did not get called also. He showed his potential this year, and it was shown by being nominated for the Manchester City's Player of the year award. 

When he was asked about next season all he said was that right now all he's thinking about is to relax and get a holiday, to get refreshed to start for the new season. he's also looking forward to the tour City is planning to make in China and Malaysia, before playing the Community Shield against Chelsea.
